Baked Chicken Wings

Baking instead of frying chicken is not a new idea. These though you can get to the same crispness as a fried wing and I think they taste even better. We are following the Trim Healthy Mama plan and these are on plan and great for a date night or when watching a football game. These alone would be a FP but served with a side of sweet potato fries would make an E.
The best part of these is that they are so easy to make. All you need is; chicken wings, seasoning,  sauce of choice, wire rack, and a cookie sheet.

We bought whole wings and hubby cut them into the wing and drumette portions. Very simple; cut off the wing tip and either put aside for stock or throw out. Then lay out the wing and cut the two parts apart.

Season with any dry spices that you may want. We have a wing seasoning that we normally use for grilling, but it worked perfectly on these. If you don’t have a favorite seasoning I would recommend garlic powder, onion powder, a bit of red pepper, salt and pepper. This dish also goes well with most leftover brisket recipes you can find online.

Place the wings on a wire rack over a foil lined cookie sheet. Trick- use a grill grate if you don’t have any wire racks or if your wire racks are like mine and have a coating on them. Ours happened to fit very nicely on the cookie sheet. If you don’t have any rack that can work it is ok, but they may not get as crispy.

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Flip at 20 minutes. Also if wanting to coat in sauce coat twice the last 10 minutes.
