THM Update and Cheeseburger Pie Recipe

Disclaimer- I do not work for THM, I don’t have any affiliation with them. All things stated are my opinions thoughts and take on the plan. I do have permission to share the recipe below. To find more information about the plan visit, their website and purchase their book.
I’ve done a review of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook and the Trim Healthy Mama Plan book. Hubby and I have been following the plan since October 11th and I think it is time to share an update. I briefly went over the plan before but I will go a bit more in-depth and even share a recipe from the new cookbook.
So we have been on plan for 6 weeks. We have ate about 90% on plan in that time, with an occasional meal out that included ingredients that we should not have had. I also had moments where I would slip and eat some candy or a cookie while at a school. But for the most part we stuck to it and enjoyed it.
The plan is very simple, cut out sugar, white flour, and other white starches. As well as separating fuel types, eat every 3-4 hours, and lots of protein and non starchy vegetables. Fuels are carbs and fat, what gives your body the energy it needs to keep going. By separating them your body only uses what you give it and then uses your stored fat to do the rest. Eating every 3-4 hours keeps your metabolism going and burning more fat, and keeps you from being hungry. Each meal is centered around a protein source and then the fuel is added, carb based for an energizing meal (E), fat based for a satisfying meal (S). That is pretty much the foundation of the plan and its amazing at how effectively it works.
I have lost 8 pounds and many many inches. Hubby has lost 5 pounds and quite a few inches as well. I had to purchase a belt to keep my pants from falling down, he had to move his in a hole. I am loving how my shirts don’t pull or fill tight anymore and how my once comfortable fitting pants are baggy in the legs. I am just 1 pound away from my goal for Thanksgiving, that I honestly didn’t even think I would be close to. I am aiming to be at my goal weight by Christmas.
There are so many more benefits to this plan then losing weight, that part is almost just a bonus. The goal of the plan is to even out blood sugar and reduce spikes in sugar levels that lead you to a crash. When your sugar is level all day long many other symptoms start to go away and your body begins to heal itself. It is amazing what your body can do when you stop giving it junk. I haven’t felt this good in a long time. I have energy, the majority of my stomach problems have gone away, I don’t feel very achy. Even if the scale wasn’t moving I would still stick to this plan for all these other benefits.
