Last weekend I packed myself up and headed to Fayetteville, Arkansas. Something Hubby and I do often since that is ‘home’ to us, but this time, it was different I was going to my second blogging conference. Megaphone Summit was all I thought it could be and so much more. Last year I took a big step for me and went on my own with someone I had only really met online and just jumped in, and loved every moment. This year I was so excited to go back and see all my blog friends and make new ones.
If you’ve been following me on here you can see I have been a bit inconsistent in my posting and I was feeling a bit unmotivated and lost as to what I wanted to do. After this weekend though I am pumped to get back on here and make this place everything I dreamed it would be when I restarted in February. The weekend away getting back to the root of why I started blogging two years ago was just what I needed.
So what exactly did this conference entail? Community, learning, sharing, connecting, and growing. The Arkansas Women Bloggers are a unique group of people who love what they do and love to uplift each other and help in whatever way possible, I am so thankful to be apart of them. I attended Foodie Friday where I got to hear from Sister Schubert, THE roll lady and Helen of My Brothers Salsa. I also got to eat their food!
I went to sessions on staying motivated, working with brands, building a good strategy and blog brand, imporving social media and so much more. The classes are great with lots of information but the even better part of this conference is the time spent connecting with the people there. I made many new friends and got to talk and exchange tips with some of my favorite bloggers. One of my new friends Laci at Easy Peasy Pleasy (how cute is that name!) is only one town away and I feel like we were just meant to be friends. Her blog is amazing with great recipes and beautiful pictures, and she is just as nice and fun as can be.
Now I can not forget to mention all the amazing swag I brought home with me! Soapbox Insights and Influencers gathered a ton of wonderful sponsors that wanted us to see their products. Riceland was also a big sponsor and gave us amazing goodies and provided our lunch on Saturday. Look out for my review on their new Rice N Easy products coming next week. Remington provided a free blow out bar with their new Therma Luxe products which was so much fun. Arizona Energy Shots were there and those things have a kick.
I will be doing a giveaway on Facebook in the coming days for some of these great products so be sure you are following me there.
Saturday night The Mustache hosted us for a private shopping event. They have some of the cutest unique items at their store if you are in Fayetteville you need to go check them out. I managed to win their giveaway and got these amazing shirts, mug and hat.
