I got an ice cream maker for Christmas and I was so excited to get started on great ice cream recipes for you. I want to share with you a basic vanilla recipe first. This can be adapted with flavors and mix-ins to make whatever you can think of. I have also made a pretty good chocolate recipe that once I make a couple more times I will share.
This is Trim Healthy Mama approved and is a Heavy S, meaning it has a lot of dairy in it. Being a Heavy S you don’t want to overdo it and have a bunch every night after your S meal because it could cause a stall. You can melt skinny chocolate and pour over, or even some on plan caramel if you have a good pourable recipe. If you have vegetable glycerin adding about a teaspoon, into your mixture, will keep it scoopable after freezing. If you don’t, like me, just let it thaw a few minutes on the counter or in the refrigerator while you eat dinner. Or if you are impatient at times, also like me, put it in the microwave for 20 seconds and it should be scoopable at least on the edges and top.
