Thanksgiving Recap

Hey there, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and got to enjoy time with family and great food. Hubby and I took the week and went to Northwest Arkansas to hang out with our families.

We spent the beginning of the week relaxing, watching tv, seeing our parents and just enjoying some down time. Wednesday though we got busy, Hubby had to work out of office for part of the day and I went around town shopping and getting groceries for Thursday. That afternoon we headed out to visit with Grandpa since I wouldn’t get to see him later in the week.

Thanksgiving was a busy day and lots of fun. I made a couple dishes for the the in-law family lunch.

I made a coconut cream pie that turned out even more beautiful than the first one.

I also made Mrs. Criddle’s Squash Casserole and man was it amazing.

We had a huge selection of pies this year and everything was great!

I managed to forget to take a picture of the great ham and turkey breast my Mom and Dad in-law made, but they were beautiful and so so good.

And then we were off to see my Aunt’s house for my family’s little gathering.  We usually make it in time for dessert at their house. Hubby got a yummy slice of sugar-free apple pie and I brought a few of my cookie exchange cookies for them to try. It was great to hang out with them and visit with my Nana and Papa and of course my mom and dad.  I forgot to get good pictures of the food too but I got a good one of the dog and Nana laughing. (Failing at picture perfect moments here)

We ended Thursday hanging out with old friends and doing the dreaded Black Friday shopping. Luckily it seemed to be less popular this year and we were done by 9 and eating breakfast for dinner at a town favorite Village Inn.

We came home Friday afternoon and got the house decorated for Christmas! Its the most wonderful time of the year after all.

How was your Thanksgiving? Did you try any new recipes?
